RDV: How policymakers use and interpret performance information

Steven Van de Walle will give a talk on his projects on how policymakers use and interpret performance information by using approaches such as eyetracking and studying small group interactions. He will also draw some insights from his article “A systematic review of the literature on determinants of public managers’ attitudes toward public participation”. About the speaker:

Steven Van de Walle is a research professor of public administration and public management at the Public Governance Institute at KU Leuven, Belgium. His current research and teaching covers public sector reform, the organisation of public services, public sector failure, citizens’ perceptions of the public sector, government-citizen relations, and public sector performance. Steven’s work has been published in all leading journals in the discipline and has received multiple awards.
