Pernilla Leviner is Professor in Public Law, focusing on welfare and child law, at Stockholm University. She is director and board member of the interdisciplinary Stockholm Centre for the Rights of the Child, and editor of Nordic Journal of Social Welfare Law (Nordisk socialrättslig tidskrift). As a researcher, Leviner is interested in different aspects of the relation between the state, family, and individual, often focusing on the responsibility and role of public authorities. As can be seen from her publications, she has researched topics such as child protection issues, children’s rights within the health care sector, the right to a fair trial from a child’s perspective, the role and function of courts in child protection cases, non-discrimination and equal treatment of children in social welfare, and children’s right to participation through legal representatives. https://www.su.se/english/profiles/plevi-1.184442
