Norway in the European Court of Human Rights

1. February 2019 @ 10:15 - 11:00

The lecture is part of the event FP-dagen, hosted by the University of Bergen

The last few years have seen a massive uproar and negative media attention on child protection interventions internationally, with Norway having a prominent place in this spotlight. Several cases against Norwegian child protection has been or is under review of the European Court of Human Rights. At this lecture, we take a look at one of these cases that has received much attention: “Strand Lobben vs. Norway”. We will also present new knowledge on children’s situation in Norway, and discuss how the Norwegian child protection system performs compared to other European countries.
